LIONS PAST INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT CLEMENT KUSIAK ABOUT HIS VISITS TO SLRT AND BAF PROJECTS
The more I travel as a Lions officer, the more I realise all the good that Lions do through LCIF. In June, I had the opportunity to visit some of the project sites of the Solideal Loadstar Rehabilitation Trust (SLRT), an organisation that is working to help people on the south coast of Sri Lanka recover from the tsunami. The SLRT has received 425,220USD in funding through a designated donation to LCIF made by the Belgian Lions.
I was impressed by the quality of homes that the SLRT has constructed for tsunami victims who were left homeless and I am happy to note that infrastructure such as roads and utilities have been provided to the housing colonies. While there is still a lot of construction remaining, the SLRT seems quite capable of completing the work in a timely fashion.
